Monday marked one of the busiest and most thrilling days of the Rhode Island high school sports season, with several standout performances and nail-biting finishes across the diamond. Here's a recap of all the action from May 11.

In a classic pitcher's duel, freshman Michael Sabetta showed poise beyond his years, leading his team to a tense 1-0 victory. Sabetta was nearly untouchable, tossing five no-hit innings with five strikeouts and just two walks. Reliever Adrian Gonzalez navigated a sixth-inning walk, leaving the tying run stranded at third, before recording two strikeouts in the seventh. Mason Hunt then sealed the win by inducing a flyout to center field. The game's only run came in the fourth inning when Logan Fernandez's sacrifice fly scored Anthony Burt. West Warwick loaded the bases on singles from Burt and Nick Andruchow, plus a walk to Hunt, extending their win streak to five games. Despite the loss, Ponaganset's Brady Lewis was outstanding, tossing a complete game with just two hits allowed, 10 strikeouts, and three walks.

Pilgrim got off to a fast start, using patient at-bats to build an early lead and secure a 5-2 win over the Oakers. Dom Berry, Anthony Deluca, and Kyle Rezendes all walked to open the game, setting the stage for Michael Blair. With the bases loaded, Blair put the ball in play to the right side, reaching on an error that allowed two runs to score in the first inning. Pilgrim added two more in the second on a double from Deluca and a single by Rezendes. Three pitchers combined for the victory, with Deluca earning the win after 2 2/3 innings, allowing two earned runs and three walks.

Cranston West's Elan Santana had a day to remember in the Falcons' 10-0, six-inning rout of the Huskies. The big righty went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, including a three-run home run in the fourth inning and two doubles. Senior Anthony Campagnone earned the win on the mound, tossing six innings while allowing just two hits and striking out three.

Other standout performers included Dylan Milano and Angelo, who also made their mark on this action-packed Monday. Coaches are reminded to send in game results each weeknight by emailing pjsports@providencejournal.com from 6 to 10 p.m.
