Three weeks into the 2026 MLB season, the hot corner is already sizzling. While some established stars are finding their rhythm, a new wave of talent is making an immediate impact, setting the stage for a thrilling positional battle all summer long. As we head into Week 4, here’s how the top 10 third basemen in baseball stack up based on their scorching starts.

Brendan Donovan has seamlessly transitioned to Seattle, becoming an on-base machine and a key catalyst for a Mariners team with serious postseason aspirations. His consistent contact and high baseball IQ make him a perfect fit at the top of their lineup.

Max Muncy’s power is back on full display. A perennial threat against right-handed pitching, a healthy Muncy is off to a torrid start, putting him in early conversation to challenge for the National League home run crown—a thrilling prospect for Dodgers fans.

Don’t sleep on Maikel Garcia. After a career year in 2025, the Royals' infielder is proving it was no fluke. His all-around improvement at the plate and in the field makes him one of the most underrated and exciting players to watch this season.

Brady House is turning potential into production. The Nationals' young star showed flashes during his rookie campaign but is now putting it all together, showcasing the power and poise that made him a top prospect and giving Washington a cornerstone to build around.

Junior Caminero is a superstar in the making. Following his explosive breakout, the Rays' phenom is beginning to heat up. It’s only a matter of time before he embarks on one of his signature offensive tears, cementing his status among the elite at the position.

In Oakland, Darell Hernaiz is making the most of his opportunity. The Athletics' rookie is making consistent, hard contact and providing a bright spot for a rebuilding team. His ability to put the ball in play should lead to plenty of RBI chances in the heart of the order.

Even veterans need a tune-up. Alex Bregman is still searching for his peak form in Chicago, but the signs are encouraging. A proven leader and clutch performer, it’s only a matter of time before the former Astros star catches fire and carries the White Sox offense.

Speaking of catching fire, Jose Ramirez has officially arrived. The game’s most dynamic third baseman is doing it all—launching homers and swiping bags with equal ease. This five-tool surge is a clear signal he’s on a mission to reclaim his throne as the undisputed best at the position.

Manny Machado remains the model of consistency. Year in and year out, the Padres' slugger delivers elite production, combining formidable power with veteran savvy. You can pencil him in for another All-Star season and a spot in the top five by October.

The biggest question mark remains Nolan Gorman’s health. The Cardinals' slugger has 30-homer potential, as his 2023 breakout proved, but staying on the field has been a challenge. If he can avoid the injured list, he has the raw power to skyrocket up this list and change St. Louis’s fortunes.
