Midland ISD celebrated a milestone moment for six standout student-athletes from Legacy High School during its final signing day for the Class of 2026. The ceremony, held Wednesday, honored these young athletes as they officially committed to continuing their academic and athletic careers at colleges and universities across the country.
"We are extremely proud of these student-athletes for their commitment to play at the next level," said Amanda Lopez, Director of Athletics. "We have enjoyed watching and cheering on these student-athletes throughout their time at LHS and wish them the best as they move forward to their next chapter."
The event brought together family members, teammates, coaches, and school administrators to recognize the dedication, perseverance, and countless hours of hard work that paved the way for this achievement. From early morning practices to balancing demanding coursework, these athletes have shown what it takes to succeed both on and off the field.
"Signing to compete at the collegiate level represents years of commitment not only in competition but also in the classroom," shared Wes Torres, Executive Director of Athletics. "This is a testament to their discipline and drive."
The signing class features a diverse range of sports, from football to track and field, showcasing the depth of talent at Legacy High School. Among the honorees were Evis Bobey, heading to The University of Texas Permian Basin for football, and Masseye Diop, who will take her track and field skills to the University of Houston. Other signees included Ben Cano (football, Wayland Baptist University), Cisco Rodriguez (baseball, Cisco College), Harlem Brown (football, Sul Ross State University), and Kambri Bradley (cheer, Angelo State University).
