New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel made his first appearance in front of the press on Tuesday afternoon, where he gave his full comment on the Dianna Russini scandal that derailed the team’s offseason.
Vrabel kept things very professional, speaking from the heart as opposed to regurgitating a written script. He spoke on the personal battles he has faced, as well as how important he believes it is to re-frame the narrative in New England.
His number one focus seems to be on bringing the attention back to football in Foxboro. He acknowledged his mistake and assured that, going forward, there will be no more issues coming out of his corner.
“I care deeply about this football team and am excited to coach them,” Vrabel said. “I also know that I'm going to attack each day with humility and focus.
“And what I can promise you is that my family, this organization, the team, the staff, the coaches, everybody, our fans, most importantly, will get the best version of me going forward. And that's what I know, and I'm excited to do that, but I wanted to just address this, and thank you for your patience in dealing with the private and personal matter.”

As far as his address is concerned, I believe it is about as good an acknowledgement as fans could ask for. He did not downplay the incident or make any excuses/unsubstantiated claims. Vrabel kept the focus on football, which, as a fan of his football team, is all you want to hear.
I suspect this will be the last time Vrabel addresses this going forward, as the offseason programs are already in full swing in New England.
