Amid his messy scandal featuring allegations of an affair with NFL insider Dianna Russini, Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel took center stage during a press conference on Night 1 of the NFL Draft. But it was announced that he would not be with the team during Day 3 of the event, as he was taking personal time off.

Now, photographs have emerged of Vrabel allegedly shopping for a gift for his wife at the Salt Lake City International Airport this past Saturday. One shouldn't speculate on what the pictures show, however. Vrabel and his wife have a home in Utah. His wife was not pictured with him at the airport, and the extent of their time together this past weekend remains unknown.

Vrabel's excursion out west didn't last long, as reports indicated he returned to his office at the team's facilities on Monday. And while there is still some speculation over exactly what occurred during his disappearance from the draft on Day 3, we now have at least one piece of the puzzle in place.

Vrabel and Russini were exposed in a scandal when photos emerged of them allegedly sharing a romantic getaway in Arizona ahead of the NFL League Meetings earlier this year, with more photos leaking since then that suggest an extended affair. There has been no indication that he will face any significant professional backlash or punishment, but a potential affair with a reporter who covers his team. At the same time, Russini has since resigned from her position at The Athletic.
