Dusty May and the Michigan Wolverines have reloaded in the transfer portal with Cincinnati transfer Moustapha Thiam committing to the program on Friday, according to On3's Joe Tipton.

Thiam, who checks in at 7-foot-2, was one of the top players to enter the portal this offseason after averaging 12.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game last season. He started 31 games for the Bearcats and received All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors. He shot 52.5% from the floor, 28.8% from 3-point range, and 63.3% from the free-throw line.

He is originally from Dakar, Senegal, and started his career with the UCF Knights. He averaged 10.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per game as a freshman before transferring to Cincinnati. He will have two seasons of eligibility at Michigan.

Thiam is ranked as the No. 14 overall player and No. 3 center in the transfer portal by On3.

May has shown the ability to develop centers throughout his coaching career. His latest success story was Aday Mara, who averaged 12.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per game last season for the Wolverines and was a key part of their national championship. While Mara has not announced if he will enter the draft or return to Michigan, Thiam gives the Wolverines someone who can step into his role or allow them to play two bigs at once.

Thiam is the third transfer they have landed this offseason, joining four-star power forwards Jalen Reed and JP Estrella. They now have On3's No. 10 transfer class, which is also the 4th best in the Big Ten.
