Michigan received a commitment from Texas defensive lineman Xavier Muhammad on Thursday.

The Michigan Wolverines are on a recruiting roll, and the future of their defensive line just got a whole lot brighter. On Thursday, the program secured a commitment from Xavier Muhammad, a four-star defensive lineman from South Houston, Texas. This marks the second four-star recruit to pledge to Michigan in as many days, signaling a powerful momentum shift for the 2027 class.

Muhammad, an impressive 6-foot-4, 275-pound athlete, isn't just a one-sport wonder. He's a three-sport standout, also excelling in basketball and track and field. His versatility and raw athleticism make him a formidable force on the gridiron. He confirmed his commitment to the Wolverines through social media, choosing Michigan over a host of top-tier programs, including Notre Dame, Miami (Florida), and Missouri.

Ranked 97th overall in the 247Sports Composite, Muhammad is considered the ninth-best defensive lineman in the nation and the No. 12 prospect in the talent-rich state of Texas. His addition gives Michigan nine total commitments for the 2027 class, following Wednesday's pledge from four-star wide receiver Quentin Burrell. For Wolverines fans, this back-to-back recruiting win is a clear sign that the program is building a powerhouse foundation for years to come.
