The Wolverines know what the road to repeating as Big Ten regular-season champions is going to look like.

The road to defending their Big Ten regular-season crown just got a whole lot clearer for Michigan basketball. The conference officially unveiled the Wolverines' league matchups for the 2026-27 season on Tuesday, laying out the opponents and venues for what promises to be another thrilling campaign.

At the heart of the schedule are the protected rivalries that always bring the heat. Michigan will face both Michigan State and Ohio State in home-and-home series—a tradition that got an extra boost last year when Wolverines coach Dusty May and Buckeyes coach Jake Diebler agreed to meet twice every season. The third double-play opponent is Minnesota, a team that adds extra intrigue after snagging former Michigan players Winters Grady and Malick Kordel from the transfer portal this offseason. Notably, Williams Arena remains the only Big Ten venue where May has yet to secure a win as Michigan's head coach.

The home slate at Crisler Center is stacked with formidable foes: Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Northwestern, Oregon, Purdue, and Washington will all make the trip to Ann Arbor. Meanwhile, the Wolverines will hit the road for tough away-only contests at Indiana, Nebraska, Penn State, Rutgers, UCLA, USC, and Wisconsin.

Exact game dates are expected to drop in September, with tip times and TV assignments to follow. But for now, Michigan fans have plenty to look forward to as the team builds on a historic 2025-26 season. The Wolverines stormed to the Big Ten regular-season title by a four-game margin, set a conference record with 19 league wins, and became the first Big Ten team since the 1975-76 Indiana Hoosiers to go undefeated on the road in conference play. They capped it all off with a Big Ten tournament final appearance and a national championship—proving that this program knows how to deliver when it matters most.

Here's a quick breakdown of Michigan's 2026-27 Big Ten schedule:
▶ Home: Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Northwestern, Oregon, Purdue, Washington
▶ Away: Indiana, Nebraska, Penn State, Rutgers, UCLA, USC, Wisconsin
▶ Home/Away: Michigan State, Minnesota, Ohio State
