The Kenton Ridge Cougars are picking up right where they left off. The defending Division IV state champions have opened their season a perfect 11-0, a run that extends their incredible winning streak to 44 consecutive games. That dominant form has earned them the No. 1 ranking in the first Ohio High School Softball Coaches Poll of the season, where they secured a unanimous selection with all 11 first-place votes. Their excellence isn't just a state story—they're also turning heads nationally, sitting at No. 16 in the NFCA poll and No. 12 in the MaxPreps Top 25.

While Kenton Ridge leads the charge in D-IV, the competition is fierce across all divisions. In Division I, defending state champion Lebanon finds itself in a tie for third.
