The Miami Dolphins are projected to have a Top 2 pick in the next NFL Draft, according to six 2027 mock drafts that are already out.
Here are the way-too-early Dolphins projections in those six mock drafts:
Sports Illustrated - No. 2, Jeremiah Smith, WR. Ohio State
The Athletic - No. 2, Jeremiah Smith, WR, Ohio State
Pro Football Focus - No. 2 Jeremiah Smith, WR, Ohio State
The Dolphins are widely projected to be among the five worst teams in the NFL in 2026, according to oddsmakers.
The Cardinals, Jets, Browns are also projected to finish poorly. Those teams are all looking for franchise quarterbacks. Some believe the Raiders and/or Titans will also struggle badly.
Manning is the nephew of NFL legend Peyton Manning.
Jeremiah Smith is from Miami Gardens and played at Chaminade in Hollywood.
The Dolphins are hoping they struck gold with quarterback Malik Willis. If they view Willlis as a cornerstone after this season, they could draft a receiver or trade a high pick in 2027.
Most Miami fans say they are more interested in seeing Miami establish a hard-working, physical, tough, committed culture in Year 1 under new coach Jeff Hafley than they care if the team finishes 3-14 or 6-11.
There is reason to believe general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan has added players with the character and mindset to buy into Hafley’s approach.
In 2020, the Dolphins used the 5th overall pick on Tua Tagovailoa. Miami exceeded expectations that season and finished with a 5-11 record.
