There's a guy named DeVonta Smith available to be picked in the 2026 NFL Draft.

And no, he's not the Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver. He's actually a talented player from Notre Dame.

The Eagles' Smith was the No. 10 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Alabama.

Five years later, the name is giving it a second go.

That's right: He could one day line up across from the receiver DeVonta Smith in one of the coolest matchups in NFL history.

This DeVonta Smith, believe it or not, also started his college career at Alabama, like the receiver with the same name.

Smith transferred to Notre Dame for the 2025 season and mostly played as a slot corner.

He has a solid chance of getting drafted in the late rounds of the 2026 NFL Draft, or at least signing as an undrafted free agent.

There's no Internet record that they're related.

That's a logical conclusion to reach, anyway. What would be the odds of a couple of family members being given the exact same first name within five years of each other?
