When asked about that connection and how he sees himself fitting into the offense, Hibner pointed to both their Michigan backgrounds and his willingness to do whatever is needed early on.

“Yes, it was cool. When I met with [head] Coach [Jesse] Minter, we were able to chat about both of our times at Michigan… But I think just doing whatever I can on and off the field, embracing special teams – that's going to be a big role for me… being able to be a plug-and-play [player], being able to be versatile and really do whatever they need from a blocking standpoint and a passing standpoint.”

That’s exactly how young tight ends carve out roles in this system — versatility first, production later.

If he leans into that approach, it’s not hard to see how he earns snaps early while continuing to develop on offense.
