In a heartwarming display of generosity, former Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has stepped up to help a college basketball team in need. The University of Dallas men's basketball team, a Division III program, was facing the heartbreaking possibility of canceling their dream trip to Europe after losing $60,000 they had painstakingly raised over nearly two years.

The team had paid two installments of $30,000 to Boston-based travel company GoPlay Sports to organize a two-game series in London. But when the company suddenly announced it was shutting down—with no record of actually filing for bankruptcy—the players' hopes of making the trip seemed to vanish. "We raised over $65,000," head coach Matt Grahn told local outlets. "We did anything and everything. We ran camps, sold concessions at soccer games, even worked as ushers and security at AT&T Stadium for Cowboys games."

The trip held special significance: it was planned to honor senior forward Michael Kennedy, who grew up just outside of London. The program has a tradition of taking a player from outside their conference home for a series of games as a tribute to their three-year commitment to the team.

But after the team shared their story on TikTok, the viral attention caught the eye of Mark Cuban. The billionaire entrepreneur and former "Shark Tank" star donated $30,000 to get the team one step closer to their goal. "We're incredibly grateful, Mark," the team said in response. With Cuban's help and ongoing fundraising efforts, the University of Dallas men's basketball team is now hoping to raise the remaining funds needed to make their August trip a reality.
