Former NFL defensive end Marcellus Wiley, known for his time with the Buffalo Bills and San Diego Chargers, is facing a new wave of serious allegations. According to recent court filings obtained by Rolling Stone and PEOPLE, four additional women have come forward accusing him of sexual assault, including a former ESPN employee. This brings the total number of accusers to seven, following three similar accusations made in 2023.
The most recent lawsuit, filed on April 29, details an alleged incident from 2009 involving a female ESPN staffer. She claims Wiley, now 51, invited her to his hotel room under false pretenses. Once inside, she says he emerged from the bathroom naked, pushed her against a window so forcefully she feared it would break, and then held her face down on the bed, making it difficult to breathe. The accuser states she repeatedly pleaded with him to stop, but he continued before finally allowing her to leave. "The assault was devastating to me, and I will live with the effects to this day," she said in the filing.
Three other women have also joined the lawsuit, alleging that Wiley sexually assaulted them between 1995 and 1999, during his early NFL career. Two of these accusers claim he raped them during that period. Wiley, who is married to Annemarie Wiley—a former cast member on Bravo's Real Housewives of Beverly Hills—has denied all allegations. In a YouTube video posted on May 5, he firmly rejected the claims, though the legal proceedings continue to unfold.
These allegations add to a troubling pattern for the former pro athlete, who also worked as a sports commentator for ESPN and Fox Sports. As the story develops, it serves as a stark reminder that off-field conduct can have lasting consequences, even years after a player's final snap.
