Manchester United have officially punched their ticket back to the Champions League, and now the real work begins. The Red Devils are gearing up for a busy summer transfer window with sights set on competing across all four fronts next season.

The midfield is where the biggest shakeup is expected. Casemiro's departure at the end of his contract opens up a major hole, but the club's plans for Manuel Ugarte are raising eyebrows. The Uruguayan arrived from Paris Saint-Germain two seasons ago in a hefty £50.75 million move, but things haven't gone according to plan.

Ugarte has struggled to find his footing in English football, and INEOS are now looking to move him on. The problem? Manchester United know they won't get anywhere near what they paid for the 25-year-old. His underwhelming performances have seen his value drop significantly, and the club is trying to avoid an even steeper decline.

There's no shortage of interest from Turkey, Italy, and the Netherlands, but United are playing it smart. They'd rather negotiate quietly than actively shop him around, which could drive his price down even further. To avoid a loss under the Premier League's profitability and sustainability rules, they need at least £25.26 million from his sale.

Juventus are sniffing around but prefer a loan deal, which complicates things. If a permanent transfer doesn't materialize, United have a surprising backup plan: keep Ugarte as their fourth-choice midfielder next season. According to reports, the club is targeting two new central midfield signings and would finance a third if they can offload Ugarte.

But here's the twist—Ugarte might not be thrilled about being a backup. After earning just one start under Michael Carrick, the Uruguay international wants regular playing time. Whether he accepts a reduced role or pushes for a move could define United's entire midfield strategy this summer.
