Strahinja Pavlovic has undergone a remarkable transformation at AC Milan—and now two Premier League giants are taking notice.
Last season, the Serbian defender was still finding his feet in Serie A, and his performances drew plenty of criticism. But in the current campaign, Pavlovic has turned the corner in a big way. His growth on the pitch has caught the eye of both Chelsea and Manchester United, sparking a potential transfer battle.
According to reports from Get Italian Football, Chelsea have been tracking Pavlovic for some time and were expected to make a move. Now, Daniele Longo reveals that the list of suitors is growing, with several clubs making inquiries—including Manchester United, who have joined the race as an interested party.
As things stand, Chelsea remain the most active and are leading the chase. A deal for Pavlovic could also open the door for Benoit Badiashile's departure, with the Frenchman previously on Milan's radar.
But Milan won't let their center-back go cheaply. The Rossoneri are reportedly holding out for €50 million, which would give them the funds to target Lazio's Mario Gila as a replacement.
This season, Pavlovic has evolved into a confident ball-playing left center-back. He's even chipped in with goals—most notably a thunderbolt against Torino. While he still has the occasional error in his game, his overall impact on the ball is a net positive, making him an attractive option for a Chelsea side that values build-up play.
Manchester United, on the other hand, don't have an urgent need for another center-back, which tilts the odds in Chelsea's favor. With the January window approaching, this is one to watch.
