In a recent interview with Voetbal Primeur, journalist Lentin Goodijk revealed that Manchester City are among the clubs hoping to land Ajax winger Mika Godts. Goodijk said,
“Against PSV, Arsenal, Chelsea and FC Barcelona will have their scouts in the stands.
“Manchester United, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and all the other big clubs in Europe have him on their list.”
Godts is having a fine campaign in the Dutch Eredivisie as he has put in a handful of impressive displays for Ajax on the left wing. The 20-year-old has found the back of the net 16 times and earned 13 assists in 39 appearances for the Dutch outfit this season across various competitions.
The talented youngster has proven himself to be a consistent performer in the Eredivisie. However, only time will tell whether he can replicate his good form in the Premier League.
His current contract at Ajax will expire in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for Man City to snap him up on the cheap this off-season.

Godts is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with it out in the wide areas. He has got the vision to create some meaningful openings for his teammates in the final third and can shoot the ball with power from long range.
The Dutch sensation can chip in by scoring and creating a lot of important goals for his team from the flanks. However, it remains to be seen whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if Man City manage to bring him on board this summer.
Godts would undoubtedly improve the quality of Pep Guardiola’s frontline in the long run. He is already good enough to compete for a regular place in Man City’s match-day squad.
At 20, Godts has the potential to be a world-class winger someday. Thus, the Mancunian giants should focus on signing him soon. Godts is a prospect to watch out for in the long run and could help Man City compete for a lot of major honours over the next decade.
