Manchester United's Mason Mount feels the club can end their 13-year wait for a Premier League title next season.

Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount has boldly declared that the club can end their 13-year Premier League title drought next season—a statement that's sure to fire up fans and add some serious swagger to the dressing room.

The last time United lifted the trophy was in Sir Alex Ferguson's final season. That's a long wait for a club of this stature, but Mount, at 27, is already looking ahead with his sights set firmly on the prize. "I've won the Champions League already, so now my goal is to win the Premier League," he said. "Can we do that? Yes, I think we can."

It might sound like a bold claim given United finished 15th last season, but Mount points to their big-game performances as proof of what's possible. "We've shown what we can do against the big teams—Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal—so we've done it. Now it's about doing it on a bigger stage in the Champions League and being more consistent in the league."

A win against Liverpool on Sunday would secure Champions League football for next season, and Mount sees that as a springboard. "It may seem a little far away, but you must have that mentality to really push yourself as a group. Hopefully, I'll be a massive part of that moving forward."

There's been plenty of chatter about Mount's role at Old Trafford. He's featured in 20 of United's 34 league games this season but started just 10—none since late December. With Michael Carrick now at the helm, it's less clear where Mount fits best, but the former Chelsea man isn't worried. "I'll always back myself. I know what I'm about and what I can bring."

Mount also revealed he felt close to an England recall under Thomas Tuchel before niggling injuries limited his game time. Still, he's confident he can play a key role next season. "It's my third season here, and it's flown. I'm a bit older now, with more experience. There are going to be a lot more games next season, and I'm ready to be a part of it."

For United fans dreaming of a return to glory, Mount's confidence is exactly the kind of spark this team needs. Whether it's in the Carrington training kit or the famous red shirt, this is a player who believes the wait is almost over.
