Memphis basketball is heating up this offseason, and head coach Penny Hardaway is making moves to fortify his frontcourt. According to multiple sources, 7-foot center Makur Maker is one of two players scheduled to visit the Tigers on May 7. Sources spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to discuss recruiting publicly.

Maker, a 25-year-old veteran big man, brings size and experience to a Memphis squad that has been busy adding guards and wings this spring. Joining him on the visit list is Syracuse transfer forward Ibrahim Souare, a 6-foot-9, 225-pound forward who could provide immediate depth in the paint.

With two open roster spots remaining out of 15, Hardaway has clearly identified the frontcourt as a priority. So far, Corneilous Williams—a 6-foot-9 big man who averaged over nine rebounds per game in his last two seasons at North Alabama—is the only true post player the Tigers have added this offseason.

For a team that thrives on versatility and athleticism, adding Maker and Souare would give Memphis the size and rebounding presence needed to compete in a tough American Athletic Conference. As the roster takes shape, all eyes are on these visits—and what they could mean for the Tigers' championship aspirations.
