Arsenal faced off against Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a win in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semifinal clash. The Gunners made a solid start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 44th minute thanks to Viktor Gyokeres’ penalty. Mikel Arteta’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.
Julian Alvarez equalised for the Madrid giants from the penalty spot in the 56th minute. The match finished with Arsenal earning a hard-fought 1-1 draw at the Wanda Metropolitano.
