Kim Mulkey and the LSU Tigers are wasting no time rebuilding their backcourt, securing a major transfer portal commitment on Sunday. Florida guard Laila Reynolds, a 6'1" junior, is taking her talents to Baton Rouge, giving the Tigers a significant boost from within the SEC.
This move addresses a critical need for LSU, which saw four guards enter the portal and star Flau'jae Johnson depart for the WNBA. Reynolds brings immediate size, experience, and proven scoring ability to a roster in transition.
As a starter for the Gators over the past three seasons, Reynolds averaged 9.8 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. She is coming off her most productive year, averaging 12.1 points in the 2025-26 season and scoring in double figures against SEC opponents ten times. Her physicality and length will be assets on both ends of the floor for the Tigers.
A top-20 recruit in the 2023 class—alongside current Tigers Mikaylah Williams and MiLaysia Fulwiley—Reynolds has long been recognized for her high-level potential. Her in-conference transfer adds an intriguing new chapter to the competitive SEC landscape and signals that Coach Mulkey is aggressively shaping her team for another championship run.
