The Blooming Prairie softball team faced a tough challenge on Monday, falling to Rochester Lourdes 11-0 in a five-inning contest on the road. The game, played in Rochester, highlighted the struggles for a Blooming Prairie squad that now sits at 3-13 on the season.

Offensively, it was a quiet day at the plate for the visitors, with Madelyn Harvey providing the lone bright spot. Harvey connected for a double, accounting for Blooming Prairie's only hit of the afternoon. Despite the team's overall offensive struggles, that extra-base knock showed flashes of the power that could help turn things around as the season progresses.

On the mound, Aubree Johnson took the loss, pitching 1⅔ innings and allowing seven runs (three earned) on four hits and four walks. Raylee Miner came on in relief, working 2⅓ innings and surrendering four earned runs on five hits and six walks, while striking out two. The combined 10 walks issued by Blooming Prairie pitchers proved costly, as Rochester Lourdes capitalized on those free passes to build an insurmountable lead.

For a young Blooming Prairie team looking to build momentum, this game serves as a learning experience—especially in tightening up control on the mound and finding ways to string together hits against tough opponents. With more games ahead, the team will aim to bounce back and put this one behind them.
