The Louisville Cardinals have secured a major transfer portal victory, landing former Tennessee guard Deniya Prawl. This move gives head coach Jeff Walz a significant talent infusion as he looks to build on last season's 29-8 record and Sweet 16 run.

Prawl arrives with a prestigious pedigree. A former five-star recruit, she was ranked as the No. 12 overall prospect in the 2025 class, a McDonald’s and Jordan Brand All-American, and a member of Team Canada's U17 World Cup squad. Her freshman season at Tennessee, however, didn't meet those lofty expectations.

In Knoxville, Prawl appeared in 29 games but started only seven, averaging 4.0 points and 2.7 rebounds in 15.5 minutes per contest. She struggled to find a consistent offensive rhythm, scoring under five points in 24 games as the Lady Vols faltered down the stretch, losing 10 of their final 12.

Now, Louisville offers a fresh start. The Cardinals are poised to return a strong core, including three of their top four scorers from last season. Prawl joins a talented group featuring Tajianna Roberts, Imari Berry, Elif Istanbulluoglu, and Mackenly Randolph, adding a dynamic, high-upside wing to the mix.

This acquisition, coupled with the recent addition of former NC State guard Zam Jones, signals Louisville's aggressive approach in the portal. For Deniya Prawl, it's a chance to reignite a promising career and help the Cardinals chase even greater success in the ACC and beyond.
