Shortly after being selected by the Las Vegas Raiders with the number one overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, Fernando Mendoza made it clear what number he wanted to wear.
"I wore number 15 in college so if I get the opportunity to wear number 15 with the Raiders, that would be fantastic," Mendoza said. "But I don't know if I've earned that yet because of the legendary Tom Flores who also played quarterback is evidently a Raiders icon."
Well, it probably isn't a huge coincidence that no player was given the number 15 for the Raiders this offseason after Kenny Pickett was no brought back. And the team put out a teaser video that was a pretty solid indication that Mendoza will indeed be getting to don the number 15 in Silver & Black.

The tweet from the team page says "Let's make H15story" with a video showing Mendoza leaving the field in his Indiana No. 15 jersey and turning the corner in a black No. 15 Raiders jersey.
I'm sure Tom Flores approves just fine. Jeff Hostetler is probably good with it too.
