Texas Longhorns men's basketball coach Sean Miller has landed international guard Mantas Laurencikas, who becomes UT's second Lithuanian on roster.

Sean Miller is wasting no time building his Texas Longhorns roster, and he's got a special connection brewing in Austin. The Longhorns men's basketball program has landed a commitment from Lithuanian guard Mantas Laurencikas, adding international flavor to a rapidly assembling squad.

Standing 6-foot-4 and just 19 years old, Laurencikas brings professional experience that's rare for a college newcomer. He's been playing professionally since age 15, most recently with AS Monaco Basketball in France, where he averaged 13.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.4 assists this past season. That kind of production against grown men? It's a big reason why Miller and his staff are excited.

Even more intriguing? Laurencikas isn't the only Lithuanian in the locker room. He joins countryman Matas Vokietaitis, who made waves during the NCAA Tournament and has already confirmed he'll return to Austin next season. Having two players who've competed together for Lithuania in FIBA competition over the past four summers could create some serious chemistry on the court.

Laurencikas fills the 14th spot on a roster that's taking shape quickly under Miller's leadership. He'll join an impressive group of transfers including guards Isaiah Johnson (Colorado), Mikey Lewis (St. Mary's), and Amari Evans (Tennessee), along with forwards David Punch (TCU) and Elyjah Freeman (Auburn).

With professional seasoning already under his belt and international experience against top competition, Laurencikas enters college basketball at age 20 with a head start. For Longhorns fans, that combination of maturity and skill is exactly what you want to see as Miller continues reshaping the program.
