Poland Bulldogs are on fire, and they showed no signs of cooling off Tuesday with a dominant 5-3 win over Hubbard—their eighth straight victory.
The Bulldogs (14-3) came out swinging in the bottom of the first inning, loading the bases for junior Luke Lockiec. He delivered the knockout punch with a grand slam, clearing the bases and bringing home Carmine Tukalo, Aiden Perry, and Zach Marantis. The offensive explosion didn't stop there; Kelley Memo followed with an RBI single to drive in Dylan Kelty, capping a five-run frame that set the tone for the game.
On the mound, Grady Pitzulo was in complete control. The pitcher tossed a complete seven-inning game on just 87 pitches, striking out six batters while allowing only three runs. His efficiency kept Hubbard at bay, even as the Eagles tried to rally.
Hubbard (13-12) put up a fight, led by multi-hit performances from Logan Balla and Jonny Adamson. Colton Yobe added a double, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome against Pitzulo's steady arm.
Looking ahead, Poland is set for a highly anticipated rivalry matchup against Canfield, while Hubbard will look to bounce back quickly as they host Edgewood on Wednesday.
