The New Mexico Lobos men's basketball team is building for the future, officially adding two promising young talents to their 2026-27 roster this week. The program secured commitments from high school standout Dax Hall and St. John's transfer Imran Suljanovic, bolstering their lineup with players who have four seasons of eligibility remaining.

Dax Hall, a 6-foot-1 point guard from Santa Fe Christian High School in California, brings a dynamic, pass-first mentality to Albuquerque. Named the CIF San Diego Section Player of the Year, Hall led his team to a 26-5 record with impressive averages of 27.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 7.3 assists, and 3.4 steals per game. His high school coach, Johnny Dee, praises his elite playmaking and basketball IQ, suggesting his game will flourish even more with college-level spacing and talent around him.

Meanwhile, the Lobos add significant size and international flair with 6-foot-8 Austrian forward Imran Suljanovic. A former recruit of Hall of Fame coach Rick Pitino at St. John's, Suljanovic is a versatile playmaker who missed his freshman season due to a knee injury, preserving a full four years of eligibility. His commitment marks the second Austrian prospect to join the Lobos in recent days, following 6-foot-9 Beni Schuch.

These additions signal a focused effort by the Lobos to infuse the roster with high-upside, long-term talent. Hall's court vision and Suljanovic's frontcourt versatility provide foundational pieces as the team shapes its identity for the coming seasons. For Lobo fans, it's an exciting glimpse into a future built on skilled, unselfish players ready to make their mark in The Pit.
