Change is in the air at Anfield. As several long-serving Liverpool players have already decided to move on, the question on everyone's mind is whether goalkeeper Alisson Becker could be next through the exit door.

But where there's change, there's also opportunity. With new additions needed to strengthen the Reds for next season, sporting director Richard Hughes and manager Arne Slot are working overtime on their transfer plans. The rumor mill is in full swing, and Liverpool are reportedly closing in on several targets.

Enter Barcelona—a club that, as usual, finds itself needing to raise funds. Despite having a buy option in Marcus Rashford's current loan deal, the Catalan giants are looking to negotiate a lower fee while also hunting for a new striker. Financial constraints are once again forcing their hand, and they're now considering which players to sell for quick cash.

One name that has caught Liverpool's attention is Alejandro Balde. The 22-year-old Spanish full-back has been linked with a move to Merseyside before, thanks to his versatility—he can play on both the left and right flanks. With Andy Robertson's potential departure, a natural void on the left side could be the perfect opening for Balde to step into.

According to a report from Sport, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is willing to let Balde go for around €50 million. The report states: "The club's idea is to try to make some big-money sales without significantly disrupting the core of the squad, and they are certain that the full-backs could help with that, as there is considerable interest in the market for both Balde and Kounde."

Barcelona won't force a move, leaving the decision in the hands of Balde's agent, Jorge Mendes. But with the player having lost his starting spot, a fresh start at Anfield could be exactly what he needs—and exactly what Liverpool need to bolster their defense for the challenges ahead.
