The Tennessee Lady Vols have secured a major backcourt boost from the transfer portal, landing a commitment from former Liberty guard Avery Mills. The sophomore announced her decision on April 8, providing a key piece for a program undergoing a significant roster overhaul.

Mills arrives in Knoxville fresh off a standout season where she was Liberty's leading scorer. The 5-foot-9 guard averaged an impressive 15.3 points, 4 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. Her most valuable asset is her elite three-point shooting; she connected on 42.7% of her attempts from deep last season while taking over seven per game, showcasing both volume and efficiency.

This addition addresses a critical need for the Lady Vols, whose outside shooting was a notable weakness last season. With all eight possible returners entering the transfer portal, head coach Kellie Harper is rebuilding her roster from the ground up. Mills immediately steps in as a proven, high-level scorer who can stretch defenses and provide instant offense, making her a foundational pickup for Tennessee's new-look squad.
