Myles Lewis-Skelly is adamant Arsenal know better than anyone what they must do to secure the club's first Premier League title in more than 20 years.Lewis-Skelly enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last season but struggled to secure a place in Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta's side until he was given a chance against Fulham earlier this month and he has started every game since.

The wait is almost over. After more than two decades of heartbreak and near-misses, Arsenal stand on the brink of Premier League glory—and rising star Myles Lewis-Skelly has a simple message for the doubters: "The job is not yet done."

For a young man who has already experienced the full rollercoaster of top-flight football, those words carry weight. Lewis-Skelly burst onto the scene last season with a breakthrough campaign that had fans dreaming of a golden future. But football, as he knows all too well, can be cruel. For much of this season, the teenager found himself watching from the sidelines, struggling to break into Mikel Arteta's plans.

That all changed earlier this month. Given a chance against Fulham, Lewis-Skelly seized the moment with both hands—and hasn't looked back since. Now, he's a mainstay in the starting XI as Arsenal push for their first Premier League title since the Invincibles of 2004.

The Gunners took a massive step forward on Sunday, grinding out a tense 1-0 victory over West Ham at the London Stadium. It wasn't pretty—the Hammers even thought they'd snatched a stoppage-time equalizer, only for VAR to intervene and rule it out after a lengthy review. But in a title race, style takes a backseat to results.

That win leaves Arsenal five points clear of Manchester City with just two games to play. The path is clear: beat already-relegated Burnley at home, then take care of business away at Crystal Palace. After that? A date with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final on May 30. But Lewis-Skelly isn't getting ahead of himself.

"We have to stay humble," he insists, the maturity of a veteran shining through his youthful enthusiasm. "The dressing room is just joy, excitement, fulfilment—everything you can describe. We are buzzing, but we know that the job is not done."

For a player who has already weathered his share of adversity, staying grounded is second nature. "I pride myself on having mental strength. Sport is not one pathway—there are ups and downs. It's how you bounce back from that, and how you are in those moments when you face adversity. That is what defines you."

When the tough times hit, Lewis-Skelly turned to his inner circle. "I spoke with my family and friends. I just told them, 'I don't want to hear all the noise from social media. Let me stay in this moment, let me continue to face this adversity and let me come out the other side of it.'"

That resilience caught Arteta's eye. When the manager finally handed him his chance, the instructions were simple: "You are going to play in midfield, so go for it." And that's exactly what he's done.

With two "finals" remaining, as Lewis-Skelly calls them, the message from the Arsenal camp is clear. "We have to take each game as it comes. The next one is Burnley—and then we go on from there. As players, as a fan myself, it's easy to think about what could be. But it is important that we stay in the moment. We have to stay on it."

For Arsenal fans who have waited 21 years to sing "Champions" again, those are exactly the words they want to hear. The job isn't done yet—but with leaders like Lewis-Skelly in the ranks, the finish line is finally in sight.
