The summer transfer window is heating up, and a familiar name is back on the radar: Zian Flemming. The Burnley striker, who made a name for himself as a rare bright spot in a relegation campaign, is now at the center of a tug-of-war between Championship giants Leeds United and newly promoted Coventry City.

Flemming’s journey has been anything but quiet. After joining Burnley from Millwall in August 2024—first on loan, then permanently for a reported £7 million—he found himself in a side that managed only 21 points all season. Yet, despite the team's struggles, Flemming netted 10 goals in 27 Premier League appearances. That kind of output, even in a losing cause, doesn’t go unnoticed.

Now, with Burnley back in the Championship, Flemming’s exit feels inevitable. His representatives have been busy, reaching out to clubs across the Premier League, with the 27-year-old Dutchman making it clear he wants to stay in England’s top flight. "I’ve had a taste of the Premier League, and I want more," Flemming told Dutch outlet Voetbal International. "I plan to stay in England’s top tier for the long haul."

Leeds United have tracked him all season, but they’re not alone. Former Coventry assistant manager Mick Brown revealed that Frank Lampard is keen on adding top-flight experience to his squad. "Flemming could be a good option for Coventry," Brown told Football Insider. "They know they have to strengthen if they want to compete in the Premier League, and he’s shown he can perform at this level. Ten goals for a relegated side is no small feat."

But the competition doesn’t stop there. Everton, Ipswich Town, and even clubs from Serie A have been contacted by Flemming’s agents. While Brown admits Flemming isn’t the top name on Leeds’ shortlist, he’s definitely in the conversation.

For Coventry, the need for a proven striker is urgent. "They’re not convinced their current players are going to cut it in the Premier League," Brown added. "Flemming is exactly the kind of player they need to be shopping for."

As the window approaches, one thing is clear: Flemming’s next move will be a statement of intent. Whether he ends up in Yorkshire, the Midlands, or beyond, his journey from relegation survivor to sought-after striker is a story worth watching.
