LeBron James was the biggest reason the Los Angeles Lakers took a surprising 3-0 series lead over the Houston Rockets. His outstanding play allowed them to shock the doubters and put themselves on the verge of sweeping the Rockets, even without the injured Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves.

But James had an awful performance in Game 4 on Sunday. He made just two of his nine field-goal attempts and had 10 points and eight turnovers in a 115-96 loss. Now there is a bit of added pressure on Los Angeles to close out the series at home in Game 5 on Wednesday.

He did take responsibility for the defeat afterward.

"It started with me, obviously," James said. "My turnovers were unacceptable."

James was one of several Lakers who didn't get the job done. Starting guards Marcus Smart and Luke Kennard both shot 3-of-8 from the field and missed all of their combined five 3-point attempts. Starting center Deandre Ayton had 15 points and eight rebounds in the first half, but he was ejected in the third quarter after being called for a flagrant 2 foul following an elbow to the face of Alperen Sengun.

Sunday was the first time in 12 years that James made no more than two shots in a game. The last time it happened for him was during Game 5 of the 2014 Eastern Conference finals between the Miami Heat and the Indiana Pacers.
