LeBron James just added another chapter to his legendary story, and his head coach is putting it all in perspective. After leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a series-clinching win over the Houston Rockets—dropping 28 points while MVP candidate Luka Dončić sat out with a hamstring injury—JJ Redick had some powerful words for his superstar.

"To me, he's had the greatest career of any NBA player," Redick said. "You can argue all you want, and I really don't care to postulate on who's the greatest of all time, but he's one of, if not the greatest of all time. For him to do it again and answer the bell again—it's baffling in some ways."

The 22-time All-Star has been defying expectations for over two decades, and Redick's praise comes at a time when James is still performing at an elite level well past the age when most legends are polishing their Hall of Fame speeches. After the game, his Lakers teammates even greeted him with playful "bahhh" noises in the locker room—a testament to the respect and awe he still commands.

This isn't the first time the GOAT debate has surfaced, and it won't be the last. James has previously given himself that title, but he's also demurred when asked to compare his game to Michael Jordan's, acknowledging the differences across eras. Redick has taken a similar approach, avoiding direct comparisons while recognizing the sheer magnitude of what James has accomplished.

Sure, beating a Rockets team missing Kevin Durant might not be the flashiest achievement, but it's another reminder of James' relentless consistency. When asked about his battle with Father Time, LeBron didn't hold back: "I'm kicking his ass. He can go to somebody else at this point. He already lost to me—it's over with."

As tough as Father Time is, James' next challenge might be even bigger: the Lakers are headed to the Western Conference semifinals, and the quest for another ring continues. Whether you put him at the top of the all-time list or not, one thing is certain—LeBron James is still writing history, one game at a time.
