Le'Veon Bell Accuses Ex-Jets Coach Adam Gase Of Cocaine Use

During a wild appearance on Justin Laboy's podcast, the former All-Pro running back details shocking locker room stories and why his big-money Jets stint fell apart fast.

Le'Veon Bell is back in the headlines, and this time, the former All-Pro running back is making jaw-dropping allegations about his time with the New York Jets. In a wild interview on Justin Laboy's Respectfully podcast, Bell didn't hold back, accusing ex-head coach Adam Gase of using cocaine during their tenure together.

Bell, who signed a massive four-year, $52.5 million contract with the Jets in 2019 after a controversial holdout with the Pittsburgh Steelers, described Gase as "the dumbest coach ever." But the bombshell came when Bell alleged that Gase was doing things in his office that "coaches ain't supposed to be doing." When pressed by Laboy, Bell bluntly said "white girl"—a slang term for cocaine—and mimed a snorting gesture. Laboy was stunned, but Bell insisted he saw it firsthand.

"I'm like, bro, I ain't just walk in the office and see my coach [do cocaine]," Bell recalled. "We're about to go to practice, bro! We got practice in 28 minutes. We got a walk-through, bro. This is what you're doing in here?"

Bell claimed it wasn't a one-time thing. "Not just once, though," he continued. "It wasn't just one time. That's what it did, though. Everybody knows that. That's what he did. But it was just crazy to me to actually see him doing it. I heard all the stories and sh*t."

These allegations add another messy chapter to what was already one of the most disappointing player-team pairings in recent Jets history. Bell arrived in New York as a three-time Pro Bowler and two-time First-team All-Pro, known for his patient, stop-start running style and elite receiving skills out of the backfield. In Pittsburgh, he was one of the NFL's most dynamic weapons.

That dominance never translated to the Jets. In 2019, Bell rushed for just 789 yards and three touchdowns as New York stumbled to a 7-9 record. The following season was even worse: Bell played only two games before being released, marking a swift and bitter end to a partnership that once held so much promise.
