Lancaster baseball has a new king of the diamond. In his 14th season at the helm, head coach Corey Conn has cemented his legacy by setting the program's all-time wins record with 226 career victories.

The milestone moment arrived on April 4th, when Conn's Golden Gales secured a decisive 6-0 road win over Batavia. This victory moved him past the previous record holder, Lennie Conrad, who amassed 225 wins—a testament to the sustained excellence Conn has built.

Conn's journey to the top began in 2013 when, at just 26 years old, he took over a program in need of direction. While early years presented the typical struggles of a young coach, Conn's unwavering belief in his vision never faltered. Known for his easy-going demeanor off the field, he is a fierce competitor at its core, driven by a profound passion for the game and a genuine love for his players.

Reflecting on the achievement, Conn was characteristically humble, shifting the spotlight to those around him. "I am fortunate to be in this position to have the longevity aspect and having so many good players," Conn said. He credited his supportive family, including his wife Sara and his parents, for enabling him to pursue his coaching passion.

From day one, Conn's mission was clear: change the culture and restore respect to Lancaster baseball. "We were kind of overlooked, and people didn’t respect us as much," he recalled, noting that the underdog mentality still fuels the program's daily drive. The ultimate goal remains unchanged—competing for a state championship.

The cultural shift Conn engineered began to translate into tangible success around the 2018 season. After several years of being competitive but falling just short, everything finally clicked for the Gales, marking the start of a new, dominant era for the program.
