Two Tennessee pitchers are making waves on the national stage, earning spots on the prestigious USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Top 25 list. This award is the highest individual honor in NCAA Division I softball, celebrating the season's most outstanding player.

Senior Karlyn Pickens is no stranger to this recognition—this marks her third career appearance on the list. She boasts a 12-6 record with a stellar 1.50 ERA, adding four saves, eight complete games, and two shutouts to her resume. Over 102.2 innings, Pickens has fanned 140 batters while allowing 48 walks.

Joining her is junior Sage Mardjetko, making her debut on the list. Mardjetko has been nearly untouchable this season, posting an 11-1 record with a microscopic 0.93 ERA—the best in the SEC and second-best in the nation. She's tossed five shutouts, struck out 136 hitters, and ranks third nationally in hits allowed per seven innings (3.29). Her dominance extends to a 0.78 WHIP (third in the country) and 9.7 strikeouts per seven innings (10th nationally).

With both pitchers leading the charge, Tennessee softball continues to build on its strong season, currently ranked in the top 10 ahead of a key series against Missouri. For fans looking to rep their favorite players, gear like jerseys and caps celebrating these standout athletes are a perfect way to show support.
