The Los Angeles Sparks named Stacy Johns as the franchise’s new president on Tuesday.

She has spent the last three months serving as the CEO of Bay FC. She was also the Chief Business Officer for Major League Soccer’s Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) and BMO Stadium for more than five years.

During her stint at LAFC, Johns worked alongside Lon Rosen, who is the Los Angeles Dodgers’ executive vice president and chief marketing officer and the Los Angeles Lakers’ new president of business operations.

Rosen reportedly recruited Johns for the president role with the LA Sparks.

“Stacy, she’s a visionary, and will be able to really help build the brand, the Sparks brand, which is a strong brand, but we want to keep increasing its position in the marketplace,” Rosen said, per Sports Business Journal. “It’s been Mark Walter’s vision to be able to do that, to align [the Sparks] with the Lakers and the Dodgers. He has three major teams in this market, and we’ll take advantage of all the core competencies we have among the three teams.”

Johns will report to Rosen and Dodgers president and CEO Stan Kaste. She will also work closely with Dodgers President of Baseball Operations Andrew Friedman and Dodgers special advisor and assistant to the owner Farhan Zaidi.

“With the combination of [Walter] coming to the Lakers and coming into basketball, his people are digging into it like, ‘We’re not going to do this just for the men’s side, we’re going to do this for the women’s side,’” Johns said, per Sports Business Journal. “They’re saying, ‘We’re going to do it right. We’re going to take these franchises where they belong.’ So I’m feel really lucky for the opportunity.”
