In a fiery exchange that has reignited one of Spanish football's most heated rivalries, La Liga president Javier Tebas has launched a blistering attack on Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, accusing him of spreading lies and playing the victim.

Speaking at an event in Santander, Tebas didn't mince words when addressing Perez's recent claims about the now-defunct media outlet Relevo. The Real Madrid chief had alleged that La Liga provided financial backing to the platform specifically to target the Spanish giants—allegations Tebas flatly denied.

"I've told him this on social media platform X," Tebas fired back. "Sometimes he says we've given the outlet 25 million, other times 10. It's a lie. They've even come to check the accounts."

The latest salvo comes on the heels of Perez's own press conference, where he addressed multiple issues surrounding both La Liga and Real Madrid's current standing. Tebas, however, sees a pattern of deflection from the club president.

"It's sad that a man like Florentino, with the business reputation he has and everything he's done for Real Madrid, has to come out and lie and make these claims," Tebas continued. "Everyone knows I'm a Real Madrid fan, even though I'm taking a break at the moment. I feel sorry for Real Madrid because you can't keep telling lies all the time."

Despite the heated rhetoric, Tebas did show some restraint when discussing Perez's recent decision to call club elections, acknowledging the president's prerogative. "The Real Madrid president will do what he believes is best for the club; resigning and calling elections is not among his options, so we must respect that. He is the club's president, so he is the one who knows the situation best."

This latest clash adds another chapter to the ongoing tension between La Liga's leadership and one of its most iconic clubs—a storyline that continues to captivate football fans across Spain and beyond.
