Former Colorado quarterback Kordell Stewart, who spent 11 years in the NFL after a 1994 Hail Mary to beat Michigan became one of the great plays in college football history, would like to return to Boulder as a member of Deion Sanders's coaching staff.

Kordell Stewart, the legendary Colorado quarterback whose 1994 "Miracle at Michigan" Hail Mary remains one of college football's most iconic plays, is eyeing a return to Boulder. The former NFL star, who carved out an 11-year professional career, has expressed a strong desire to join Deion Sanders's coaching staff at his alma mater.

Stewart, famously nicknamed "Slash" for his versatile play, is no stranger to coaching. He's currently entering his second season as an offensive coordinator at the high school level in Georgia, following a five-year stint as an assistant. But his heart is pulling him back to the Buffaloes' program. "Coaching is something I love to do tremendously," Stewart said. "I would love to have it be at my institution."

The feeling is rooted in a deep connection to Colorado, recently reinforced by his induction into the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame. While he acknowledges that Coach Prime has assembled a strong staff and "doesn't owe anything to me," Stewart has made his interest clear. "We’ve had conversations," he noted, emphasizing their friendship. "If there’s a space for me, trust me, I’ll take it and run with it."

As Sanders prepares for his fourth season at the helm, the potential addition of a program legend like Stewart would bring a unique blend of history, NFL experience, and passion to the Buffaloes' sideline—a move that would undoubtedly energize the fanbase and provide invaluable mentorship to the next generation of players.
