Fever forward Monique Billings missed the season-opener after an ankle injury. Now, she says she's ready to go.

The Indiana Fever are about to get a major boost in the frontcourt, and it's happening right in Monique Billings' own backyard.

After sitting out the season opener due to an ankle injury sustained in the preseason finale on May 2, the ninth-year forward is declaring herself game-ready. "I feel healthy, ready to go, and to be out there with my team," Billings told reporters Tuesday following practice in Los Angeles.

It's a homecoming of sorts for the Corona, California native, who starred at UCLA from 2014-18 before launching her professional career. The Fever will face the Sparks on Wednesday, giving Billings a chance to make her Indiana debut just miles from where she grew up.

Since signing a two-year deal with the Fever this offseason, Billings has been steadily ramping up her activity in practice each day. Now, she's poised to slot into the starting lineup alongside Aliyah Boston in the frontcourt. That shift would move Myisha Hines-Allen—who started in Billings' place during Saturday's 107-104 loss to Dallas—back to a reserve role.

For a Fever team looking to bounce back from an 0-1 start, getting a proven veteran like Billings on the floor could be the spark they need. Whether you're tracking her comeback or just gearing up for the season, make sure your game-day gear is ready to match the energy.
