The Kentucky Wildcats have officially made the cut for one of Georgia's most promising young defensive backs. Jeremiah Proctor, a class of 2027 safety, has included Kentucky in his top five schools, along with Florida State, Miami (FL), Tennessee, and Pittsburgh, as reported by Riley Alberts of 247 Sports.
Standing at an impressive 6-foot-4 and weighing 210 pounds, Proctor is a rising star from Gainesville (GA) High School. According to the 247 Sports Composite, he is currently ranked No. 598 nationally, the No. 57 safety in the country, and the No. 70 overall prospect in the talent-rich state of Georgia. His size and athleticism make him a standout in a deep pool of defensive recruits.
Proctor has a busy summer ahead, with official visits lined up to several of his top choices. He'll start at Florida State from June 5-7, head to Pittsburgh from June 11-13, and wrap up with a visit to Kentucky from June 19-21. These trips will be crucial as he narrows down his decision.
On the field, Proctor is a proven winner. Last season, he helped lead Gainesville High School to an impressive 12-3 record and a berth in the Georgia Class 5A state championship game. While primarily playing safety, he also took snaps at outside linebacker, showcasing his versatility and physicality on defense. His length, zone coverage ability, and closing speed make him a threat to disrupt passing lanes and track the ball effectively in the air.
If Kentucky can land Proctor, he would join an already loaded 2027 secondary class that includes four-star safeties Marquis Bryant, Tristin Hughes, and Larron Westmoreland. The Wildcats are clearly prioritizing size and athleticism in their defensive backfield, and Proctor fits that mold perfectly. For fans of Kentucky football, this is a name to watch closely as the summer recruiting trail heats up.
