The Mount Union Purple Raiders are making serious noise in Division III softball, and at the heart of their success is a dominant force in the circle. Senior pitcher Kendyll Cahill has been named the John Wells OAC Pitcher of the Year, leading an impressive nine Mount Union players selected to the All-Ohio Athletic Conference Softball Team.

Cahill has been nearly unstoppable this season, entering the NCAA Division III Tournament with a stellar 19-2 record, a 1.94 ERA, and 84 strikeouts over 23 appearances (21 starts). But she's not just a pitcher—she's also a threat at the plate, batting .404 with two home runs, 12 doubles, and 19 RBIs. Talk about a dual-threat athlete who can change the game in every way.

Cahill isn't going it alone. Joining her on the All-OAC first team are senior Sydney Mercer, sophomore Allison Jones, and freshmen Addy Antonetz and Alli Hodgkinson—a mix of experience and young talent that shows the program's depth. Sophomore Emma Reemsnyder and freshman Grace Bates earned second-team honors, while seniors Lydia Brunner and Faith Reicosky were named honorable mention.

Behind the scenes, head coach Meghan Simons and her staff—assistants Jillia Cook and Erika Warren—were named the Donna J. Newberry OAC Coaching Staff of the Year. And for good reason: they've guided the Purple Raiders to a 29-6 record, their third OAC regular-season title in the last four years, and yet another NCAA Tournament berth.

But the accolades don't stop there. Mount Union has also claimed the Tim Gleason Ohio Athletic Conference Women's All-Sports Trophy for the first time since 2015 and the sixth time overall. This award recognizes the top-performing women's athletic department across all OAC sports, and the Purple Raiders dominated with conference titles in softball, swimming and diving, indoor track and field, and lacrosse during the 2025-26 season.

Whether you're a fan of powerhouse pitching, clutch hitting, or championship-caliber coaching, Mount Union's softball team is proving they have it all—and they're just getting started.
