Big news for WNBA fans: Kelsey Plum is stepping into the broadcast booth. Prime Video announced Thursday that the Los Angeles Sparks guard will join its WNBA coverage as a player contributor this season, making select appearances throughout the 2026 campaign.
Plum brings serious star power to the role. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 WNBA Draft, she shattered the NCAA all-time scoring record at Washington before taking the league by storm. She helped the Las Vegas Aces capture back-to-back championships in 2022 and 2023, earned four All-Star selections, and added Olympic gold medals in 3x3 basketball (2020) and 5x5 basketball (2024) with Team USA.
"There's so much talent and momentum around the league," Plum said in a statement. "I look forward to bringing fans a current player's perspective while highlighting the personalities and storylines that make the game so special."
This move follows a playbook Prime Video already tested on the NBA side. In September 2025, Kyle Lowry joined Amazon's NBA coverage as an active player contributor, making select appearances with what the streamer called "increased responsibilities in the future." Those responsibilities grew during the NBA playoffs, where Lowry appeared on the network's studio show. Lowry, currently with the Philadelphia 76ers, has been tipped as a top candidate for broadcasting roles once he hangs up his sneakers.
Plum will join a stacked studio team that Prime Video unveiled last month. Host Allie Clifton leads the group, which includes Hall of Famers Cynthia Cooper and Swin Cash, Los Angeles Lakers assistant coach Lindsey Harding, Candace Parker, Teresa Weatherspoon, and 12-year veteran Tamera "Ty" Young. On game days, Michael Grady and Parker anchor the top broadcast team, supported by play-by-play announcers Lisa Byington and Mike Watts, and analysts Kara Lawson and LaChina Robinson. Reporters JayDee Dyer, Kayla Grey, and Morgan Regan round out the courtside coverage. Every game will be surrounded by studio shows, including WNBA on Prime Pregame and The Half at halftime.
