The Colorado Rockies’ grounds crew did an incredible job of clearing snow off the diamond at Coors Field, allowing the Rockies to play the New York Mets on Wednesday night. And it also allowed for an instant classic moment to take place in the SNY Mets television booth. SNY reporter Steve Gelbs joined play-by-play announcer…

The Colorado Rockies' grounds crew pulled off a minor miracle Wednesday night, clearing enough snow from Coors Field to host the New York Mets. But the real magic happened upstairs in the SNY broadcast booth, where a moment of pure, unscripted comedy was served up alongside a truly monstrous hot dog.

Reporter Steve Gelbs joined the legendary Mets booth team of Gary Cohen and Keith Hernandez, and he didn't come empty-handed. He brought "The Glizzilla" — a two-foot, one-pound behemoth of a hot dog that the Rockies sell for a whopping $45. As the name suggests, this thing is designed for sharing, and Gelbs decided to share it in the most memorable way possible.

In a scene straight out of a Disney classic — minus the romantic spaghetti — Gelbs and Hernandez each took a bite from opposite ends of the Glizzilla, meeting in the middle for what can only be described as a "Lady and the Tramp" moment. The only problem? Hernandez, who recently returned to the booth after back surgery, seemed a bit confused by the reference.

"What's Lady and the Tramp?" Hernandez asked, after the shared bite.

"They share a hot dog," Cohen replied, shaking his head in disbelief at the absurdity unfolding before him.

"No, spaghetti," Gelbs corrected. "Spaghetti. It's very romantic, Keith."

Hernandez, ever the professional, offered a review: "It is kind of beefy."

Cohen, already sensing the viral nature of the moment, warned, "You know that image is gonna live forever. You're never gonna be able to live that down. Either one of you."

Gelbs, ever the opportunist, countered: "For Keith, he won't be able to live it down. For me, it's a career highlight." That line sent Cohen into a fit of laughter.

The SNY Mets booth is no stranger to playful banter and offbeat moments — it's part of what makes their broadcasts so beloved. But this hot dog showdown might just be the new gold standard. Whether you're a die-hard Mets fan or just someone who appreciates a good laugh, this is one "Glizzilla" moment that's sure to stick around long after the final out.
