Kay Adams believes the Broncos-Patriots showdown is the most intriguing game on the NFL's 2026 schedule.

When the 2026 NFL schedule drops, all eyes will be on one matchup in particular. Kay Adams, host of FanDuel's "Up & Adams," has officially declared the Denver Broncos vs. New England Patriots game in Week 17 as the "most intriguing" showdown of the entire season.

And she's got plenty of reasons to back that claim. Broncos fans still feel the sting of that 10-7 AFC Championship loss to the Patriots earlier this year—a game where backup quarterback Jarett Stidham was forced into action after Bo Nix suffered a season-ending ankle injury. That injury came at the worst possible time, right after Nix led Denver to a thrilling 33-30 overtime win against the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round.

"Most intriguing matchups as we look forward to the schedule being released, I'm going to say, without question, it's Broncos at Pats," Adams said. "Because, and this is without Jarett Stidham this time hopefully, no offense to him, of course, former Patriot ... the AFC Championship game last year, this was the biggest 'what-if' this was the biggest unfinished business ... we'll never know what would have happened if Bo Nix would have been out there."

This rematch isn't just about revenge—it's about settling unfinished business. With a healthy Bo Nix under center, Denver gets a chance to rewrite the narrative. And the individual matchups are equally compelling: Jayden Waddle versus Christian Gonzales, and A.J. Brown squaring off against Pat Surtain. These are the kind of battles that make football fans circle dates on the calendar.

Kay summed it up perfectly: this could have easily been a Week 1 game. But instead, it lands in Week 17, adding even more drama to the late-season push. For Broncos fans, a win against the Patriots won't erase the past, but it sure would feel good.
