Denisa Křížová, Maja Nylén Persson and Casey O’Brien scored three straight goals in the third period to help the New York Sirens rally past the Toronto Sceptres 3-2 on Wednesday night. New York (9-2-3-13) and Toronto (9-1-5-12) are tied for fifth place in the PWHL standings with 34 points apiece, trailing Ottawa's 36 for the final playoff spot. O’Brien tipped in Nicole Vallario's shot with just under four minutes remaining for the game-winning goal.

In a thrilling third-period comeback, the New York Sirens stunned the Toronto Sceptres 3-2 on Wednesday night, fueled by three unanswered goals. Denisa Křížová, Maja Nylén Persson, and rookie Casey O’Brien provided the late-game heroics to secure a massive two points in the tight PWHL playoff race.

Trailing 2-0 with just over 11 minutes to play, the Sirens' rally began in explosive fashion. Křížová buried a backhander just 39 seconds after Toronto's second goal, netting her first for New York. The momentum fully shifted when Nylén Persson capitalized on a power play to tie the game with 5:07 remaining.

The comeback was sealed by rookie sensation Casey O’Brien, who deftly tipped in a Nicole Vallario shot for the game-winner with under four minutes on the clock. The goal capped a remarkable performance and cemented O’Brien's status as a rising star; she became just the second rookie in league history to reach the 20-point mark.

This dramatic victory extends the Sirens' franchise-record home winning streak to four games and creates a logjam in the standings. Both New York and Toronto are now tied for fifth place with 34 points, sitting just two points behind Ottawa for the final playoff spot, setting up a tense final stretch of the regular season.

The Sceptres, who had been perfect on the road since the Olympic break, saw goals from Daryl Watts and former Siren Ella Shelton go to waste. The loss halts their momentum as they head to Minnesota next, while the Sirens embark on a critical three-game road trip, starting with a pivotal clash against the Ottawa team they are chasing.
