Manchester United are already planning for next season, and according to journalist Ben Jacobs, the club has identified two "leading targets" to strengthen their attack: Yan Diomande and Morgan Rogers. Both players have been generating significant transfer buzz, and the Red Devils are positioning themselves at the front of the queue.
First up is Diomande, the 19-year-old Ivorian sensation who has taken the football world by storm. Despite spending just nine months with RB Leipzig, he has racked up an impressive 13 goals and nine assists in 34 appearances across all competitions this season. One Red Bull executive even compared him to Erling Haaland, calling Diomande "the most gifted player within our system since Haaland." While Leipzig would prefer to keep their young star for at least another year, they may be tempted to cash in if a lucrative offer comes their way this summer.
Then there's Morgan Rogers, the Aston Villa forward who could be heading for the exit door regardless of whether Villa secure Champions League football. Jacobs reports that United's interest in Rogers would intensify significantly if Michael Carrick is appointed as the club's permanent manager. The connection is clear: Carrick coached Rogers during their time together at Middlesbrough in the 2023/2024 season, where the 22-year-old made 33 appearances (20 as a starter), scoring seven goals and providing nine assists.
Before any transfer talk heats up, however, Rogers has his sights set on a more immediate goal: earning a spot in Thomas Tuchel's World Cup squad. With the competition for places heating up, the talented forward will be focused on proving his worth on the international stage.
For Manchester United fans, the potential addition of either player would add serious firepower to an attack that has shown flashes of brilliance but needs consistency. Whether it's the raw potential of Diomande or the Premier League-proven quality of Rogers, the summer transfer window promises to be an exciting one at Old Trafford.
