As Cuevas explained, Newsome's legacy looms large in the Crimson Tide tight end room, where he still holds the school's receiving records. So when Newsome approached him after practice with a simple "Roll Tide, man," the rookie's composure went out the window.

"I was kind of starstruck when he got on the phone with me during the Draft, because all we talk about at Alabama in the tight end room is the legends that walk through there and the standard we need to uphold," Cuevas said. "That man holds all the records. So when I met him yesterday, I was ... you know how you're supposed to shake hands with one hand? That's more professional. I was like, 'Hold onto my hand longer, please.'"
