As the PGA Championship unfolds at Aronimink Golf Club this week, all eyes are on the LIV Golf contingent—and none more so than Jon Rahm. The two-time major champion is one of 11 LIV players teeing it up at the season's second major, a pivotal moment for the breakaway tour as it faces an uncertain future with funding set to expire at year's end.

Among those watching Rahm closely is fellow LIV captain Joaquin Niemann, who offered a rare glimpse into what it's like to share the fairways with the Spanish star. After firing a one-under 69 in his opening round, the Chilean was asked whether he's sought Rahm's advice on staying patient in major moments.

"Just being around him, I think, is always nice," Niemann said. "He won a few already—The Masters, the U.S. Open. He's been playing unbelievable golf on LIV."

Niemann, who has gone head-to-head with Rahm over the past two seasons, added: "It's been great. I've learned a lot from him. He's a great player, great attitude. Obviously patience is probably up there in the words you've got to keep in your mind playing this game."

Rahm matched Niemann's opening 69, while fellow LIV star Bryson DeChambeau struggled to a six-over 76. The Spaniard is chasing his third major title, having won the 2021 U.S. Open and the 2023 Masters—both before his high-profile move to LIV Golf at the end of 2023.

When asked if Rahm seems frustrated by his lack of major success since switching tours, Niemann was quick to dismiss the notion. "I don't think we ever talk about it, no."

And why would they? Rahm has been nothing short of dominant on LIV Golf, winning the individual title in each of his first two seasons. He's currently leading the standings after seven of 13 events, looking poised for a three-peat that would further cement his legacy—regardless of which tour he calls home.
