Joachim Löw, the mastermind behind Germany's 2014 World Cup triumph, has cast doubt on ever returning to the sidelines. Five years after his last coaching role with Die Mannschaft, the 64-year-old told reporters in Berlin that a comeback is "rather unlikely" at this point in his life.

Since stepping down after Euro 2021, Löw has received multiple offers but hasn't found the right fit. "So far, I've been lacking a bit of the inner fire for it. That's absolutely necessary if you want to be a coach," he explained, noting that he's been away from the game "for quite a few years."

The tactician who led Germany to glory in Brazil openly questioned his readiness for the demands of modern coaching. "I don't even know whether I still have the energy to constantly push a team forward. As a coach, you absolutely need that," Löw admitted, adding with characteristic honesty, "I'm not even sure whether everything I say is still correct."

Yet, ever the competitor, Löw left the door slightly ajar. "Maybe, if an offer comes along that really excites me, I could do it again," he said with a hint of the passion that defined his 15-year tenure with the national team. For now, though, it seems the man who revolutionized German football is content to watch from the stands rather than the technical area.
